At Ando, we’re taking a fresh approach to the way insurance works in New Zealand.

We’re looking for a highly motivated Commercial Underwriter who is ready for the great leap forward to join our hard-working and high-performing Northern Commercial Markets team, based in our Auckland office.

You’ll have two to three years’ experience within commercial lines products, and have a strong understanding of the New Zealand market and emerging trends. You’ll need to have excellent communication skills with the ability to engage well with internal stakeholders. Working closely with the Business Development Managers, you’ll be involved with new business, renewals and endorsements on a day-to-day basis, while strengthening relationships with intermediaries.

Helping our business grow and succeed in a challenging and changing environment, you’ll be:

• Ensuring all risks are underwritten and accepted within authorised limits;
• Managing a small portfolio of new business and ensuring the renewal of business;
• Instrumental in process improvement;
• Achieving high levels of quote conversion whilst maintaining turnaround time SLAs.
• Monitoring and analysing trends across renewals and claims;
